Wassado (a Mali word meaning happiness) is an African band led by Moussa Diakite, the celebrated Mali-born guitarist, now Sydney-based. The band plays the Mali combination of Afro-funk rhythm with the subtle melodic influences of French jazz.

For the logo and poster, the aim was to meld the upbeat danceability of the music with Moussa’s reputation as a respected guitar player. The logo uses the bright colours of the Mali flag, the type is tight but off-centred while the black and white photo shows Moussa at work.
