A Welcome Home Dinner was held for the Australian Olympic Team in 1996 at the Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour.

The Prime Minister was to attend and so Telstra, major sponsor of the Australian Swimming Team, wanted to provide a memorable piece for all who were there.

The decision was made: everyone at the dinner would receive a limited edition phonecard collector pack.

The phonecards would be broken down into gold, silver and bronze and on each would be listed the particular events in which Australia won a medal.

The folder itself had an unusual die-cut, and the deadline was tight as we needed to wait until the last day of competition to find out which medals were won.

Each folder was individually numbered to increase their uniqueness (and collector value).
