About the project.
In 1999/2000 the partners of KPMG decided, for the first time, to provide annual reports on CD only.
This created an immediate design problem: the tactile qualities of even the most rule-breaking annual report create a sense of solidity and physical presence for the business concerned.
With an onscreen annual report, that tactile sense is taken out of play.
The challenge then was to provide an onscreen annual report that demonstrated the company's progressive thinking without forsaking that sense of tradition.
The solution was found in the use of metallic textures. These textures are not only suitable for onscreen viewing but are the most "traditional" of technological textures.
